Thanksgiving 2008

OK so my day of cooking began on wednesday, at 8:00 a.m. I pulled my last batch of rolls out of the oven at 2:00. That was the longest day of cooking ever. I think I cooked like 90 rolls. Yes they were from scratch. We loaded up the truck and headed for Saint George to pick up Robert from work so we could go to Kanab. We pulled into Kanab about 5:30 that night. We finished up a few last minute things so there wouldn't be so much to do in the morning. Thursday Morning came way to soon. I cooked hash browns and eggs for everyone for breakfast. We ate turkey around 3:00 and didn't stop eating for the rest of the day. It was so GOOD!!! The next day Robert my Dad and my brother in law B.J. all went out shooting with a few of the kids. I got to see my cousin Britney and my Grandma and Grandpa Peterson. My Cousin Chris and his wife Linda were also there. It was so good to see everyone. We finally left to come home on Friday night. I love getting together with my family there is never a dull moment LOL. The kids have so much fun with all of their cousins. There was 10 of the 13 grand kids at my parents house, eight of which were boys. I cant wait for next year. But for now its time to get ready for Christmas.

Carsons Birthday Party

Hello everyone here is my latest creation. Carsons Birthday was on the 13 of this month he turned two. My sister Raelenes little girl had her birthday on the 14 of this month,she also turned two. Because of this we decided to get together on Saturday and have a big party for the two of them. It was so much fun. They played pin the tall on the donkey, Raelene had a fishing whole for prizes, and then presents. We ate sandwiches, chips and of course cake. Raelene made Calista a butterfly and I made Carson a Boot with a moon. Yes we got creative. It was so much fun being pregnant with my little sis and being able to have our babies so close together. And now we get to remember that joy every year with their birthdays. I remember when I was in recovery she was walking around in labor. Later that day after I was released we went to visit her in her room. She was in so much pain and I told her to look at carson and just think in just a little while you will have your little girl. It worked out perfect for my parents cause they stayed at my sisters house after Carson and then went right back over for Raelenes. What are the odds of that happening again so close together. I will never forget that day and I look forward to never forgetting the days to come. I want to thank Raelene for having us all over to her house. Thank you to everyone who came to the party and to Grandma and Grandpa Alberts for the wonderful present afterward.

Halloween 2008

The first page is of Carson, as you can see he was my little pumpkin. It took two tries to keep the paint on his face. He had so much fun. The next page is of Colten. We bought the mask and he put the rest together with old costumes by himself. Mike is the next page. His mask would change colors it was really neat. He spent the night at his friend Brandon's house so I didn't even see him that night. I took pictures today. Taylor is the next page. His mask was really creepy. He also stayed the night at a friends house so I took his pictures today as well. They both had a lot of fun with out MOM! The last page is just the random pictures I took of the pumpkin carving and the loot HAHA. They will be brushing their teeth a lot. My boys love to dress up and scare each other and ME!! So Halloween is great for them. I was really surprised that Carson wasn't scared of any of the masks. He wanted to wear them himself.

Update on breaking our first horse

OK so here is a update on Moon. On the first post we had just started lunging him and working on his ground work. At this point he while lung and change direction with just the point of our hand. We can crack a whip on all sides of him and flock him with out him even making a move. He is very sound on the ground. Our next step was to get a saddle on him, this was a challenge. We put together a shoot and put him inside. We then threw the saddle on his back which he did not like at all! Once it was on tight and secure we let him out into his pin. He went crazy trying to get that dang saddle off. He was kicking rearing, bucking, and hoping. We left the saddle on all night and most of the next day until some how he broke the straps? We put new ones on and put the saddle right back on him. We then took him to the round pin to lung so he would get use to the movement of the saddle. After all this we put him back in the shoot and I climbed on. He couldn't go anywhere so I was totally safe. After just a few seconds he relaxed and licked his lips. We worked on this for a few days. Taylor our oldest wanted to sit on Moon so we let him get on the other day. We figure if hes going to start bull riding we can let him get on a unbroke horse right?! We are now to the point of getting on with out the shoot. Robert can get into he stirup and stand up but hasn't got on yet. He will do that in the next few days when he takes Moon out to gather cattle. It will be the very first ride so I will take the camera and document this cowboy moment. This has been so fun to watch the progress of Moon and spend the time with Robert. I love to watch him work with the horses. Stay tuned for upcoming pictures and commentary.

Gathering Firewood

So Saturday our family went up onto Cedar Mountain to get some fire wood. It was so much fun. Nothing smells better than fresh cut timber and a chainsaw. In some of the pictures Colten decided to go for a walk and Carson had to follow his big brother, I was not far behind with the camera. Taylor had to see how many trees he could climb and Mike went around sword fitting them all. Robert had all of the boys attention while cutting down this big tree. I love watching the boys around their dad. I cant wait to go get more firewood..... The temperature was perfect at 63 with a small breeze once in awhile. We love being in the out doors. Nothing is more peaceful then the calm of the mountains.
