My Baby Kittens (ALL OF THEM)

Well here they are our new addition to our animal family! The first picture is of Princess one of the mommies. The second picture is of her kittens, there are five of them but you can only see four. The fifth one looks just like the other black and white kitten. The third picture is of Smokes, she is one of princess kittens from her last litter. Smokes has four babies, she had six but two of them died at birth. They are such good mommies. One of princess white babies was dead at birth but I was able to revive it by massaging its chest and wiping off its face so it could get some air. It took it awhile to come around but it is doing really good now. Princess's babies are now two and a half weeks old while smokes are almost a week old. My kids love them and hold them all the time. They are going to be very kid proof when it comes time to give them away. If anyone wants one please let me know. Yes I do have plans to get the moms fixed as soon as possible!

A weekend in review

Robert and the two little ones on a huge rock down by the creek. Colten wanted to jump in but the water was really gross!!

This is a picture of the fort looking up from the creek. I know it doesn't look like much but you can just see the top of the fort.

This is a little late, but better late then never right. Taylor and Mike sang at the kite festival in St. George this last weekend, with all the 4, 5, & 6th graders. They started early so we missed them singing. We got stuck waiting for the bus to take us over to the Festival I was so mad. Anyway they both said they sucked and weren't very good. I guess they missed a few words and notes. Afterwards the school took them over to Sand Hallow, which is a indoor swimming pool, they had a blast. Robert and I took the two little ones out to Fort Pierce which is out by Washington fields. Its a old fort build back in the 1866 during the Indian wars to protect the water. Colten and Carson had fun walking inside the fort and then down by the water. I cant wait to take Taylor and Mike down there. We plan on exploring a lot of old towns and sites this summer, there are so many out here by our house. Sunday Robert and I went out on our Horse ride and Taylor watched the kids with Mikes help. They usually just play the WII and don't even know we are gone. It is so nice to get out and know my kids are in good hands. We are usually only gone for a few hours so its not to long but its still really nice. This was a good weekend and there are more to come!

OUR FAMILY EASTER ADVENTURES

Here are the pictures first and then the story is at the bottom of the page! Hope you all enjoy.
This is a picture of all Thirteen grand kids with there Great Grandpa Hunt. This was the best of Five taken.

Grandpa Hunt was making a few swings to hang from the tree for the kids to swing on.

This year for Easter we decided to head for Kanab. We arrived at my parents house around 6:30 Friday night. The kids were so excited to finally be and Grandma and Grandpas Hunts house and see all of their cousins. There is thirteen grand kids in all, out of the thirteen there are only two little girls. My brother Ryan has the one and my sister Raelene has the other one. The first night in town Robert and I decided to go see some old friends of mine who I haven't seen in forever. It was a lot of fun to just hang out and catch up. We also drove by my parents old house which was really weird to see, its crazy to think of someone else living in the house I grew up in. We got back to my parents house around 11:30 that night and then stayed up much later and visited with everyone. All the kids slept on the living room floor in sleeping bags. You could not walk with out stepping on one of the kids they were every were! After everyone went to bed all you could hear were the kids giggling and playing it was really cute and they had so much fun. The following day was Saturday. We all got up and had a huge breakfast. At this point the sun was out but it had rained that night. We all got ready for the day and cleaned up the living room. During this time it decided to start raining so our plans for the day changed rather quickly. We were suppose to go to the mountains for a cookout, instead we cooked Hot Dogs on the grill out back. When the sun broke free later that afternoon Raelene and I went and hide all the Easter eggs for the kids. After finding all the eggs and candy Ryan set up the egg coloring table. It turned out so good. I do believe there was only one spill, which Taylor caused trying to hurry and get his egg in first. I think at one point or another everyone had taken a nap minus the kids of course. After everything was done Ryan, Raelene, and I went out to play catch with the football. I noticed a rainbow and had to get a picture so Taylor took over for me while I took a picture of it. Later that night Carson my little baby started to breath really funny we just thought he was coming down with a cold. Well about 1:00 in the morning we found out differently. Robert and I got up got dressed and headed for the Hospital. By the time we arrived he sounded so bad . We got checked in and waited for the doctor to arrive. They checked his oxygen and his lungs. Everything was really good. No fever, no congestion, no ear infection, and his lungs were clear. We were told he had croup settle in his larynx, which I did not know could happen. They gave him a breathing treatment and a steroid shot in the leg. He did not even cry or react when they gave him the shot we were all really surprised! They sent us home and he has been getting better every day since. Sunday was the following day and we had family breackfast again. Sunday was such a beautiful day the sun was out and it was really warm. We had dutch oven potatoes and grilled hamburgers for lunch. Finally we left Kanab around 3:30 cause we had to be in Saint George by 5:00 for dinner at Roberts Mammies house. The boys had another Easter Egg Hunt and more food! This was a really special visit to Mammies cause the boys got to meet their Great Great Grandma. She was so sweet and it was really nice to meet her. When we got ready to leave Mammies, Grandma Albert's gave the boys their Easter Gifts. We got the movie Bedtime Stories. We sat down and watched it as a family when we got home. The kids loved it and we all laughed a lot. This was a very long and fun and stressful holiday. The kids are all doing good now and I am so glad to be home in my own bed and just relax. I cant wait for the next holiday and family get together.

When is to short a reason to hold a child back?

This post was inspired by a comment I made on Facebook. This all began when I took my son Colten to the doctor for his kindergarten exam, which was yesterday April 1. He did so good he had three shots and didn't cry, but felt really bad cause they hurt. His weight was good and his blood and yearn were good, so all in all a really healthy little boy. At the end of our visit the doctor came back to the room and began asking me about his height and what I thought of it. Yes this was all done in front of Colten. I told the doctor that he is a little short for his age but it is just something he will have to learn to deal with through out his life. The Dr. then told me about his son and how they pulled him out of public school and put him in private school for two years while they gave him growth hormones. After hiding him for two years (is how I see it) they let him back in public school but still held him back a year cause he still was not the same height as his peers. After hearing his story I told him I would not put that kind of stigmatism on my child and make him feel like something was wrong with him because he is short. He told me that he did not agree with me and gave me a number and name of a specialist to see. After leaving the doctors I went to the school to get Colten signed up for kindergarten and when I handed them the papers from the doctors I noticed some writing at the bottom. It said, This child is normal except for height and we have recommended a specialist for him..... I am sorry my son is normal in every way yes he is short and little but its in his genes. That to me is like saying your child is not normal because they are to tall or to fat. Everyone is different and that is what makes them special. Who knows Colten could hit a growing spurt when he is 8 or older. What happen if I give him growing hormones and he grows 5 inches and then when he is older hits his growing spurt and gets really tall? Kids get picked on all the time for being short or to tall or to fat or what ever. I mean come on what gives him the right to say that to someone? If it is not a concern to the parent don't say anything let it be, if it is a concern then tell them about your pathetic story!! Short or tall it does not matter my child will learn to deal with adversities in his life and work around them and he will be a better person for it. Mike, my second oldest, is one of the shortest in his class and he gets teased a little but he has lots of friends and plays basketball all the time. He will come home sometimes cause someone has called him shorty, and I always tell him that I bet that person cant do the splits like you can or run as fast as you can. I always tell him that being short is not a bad thing cause he will be able to do things that tall people wont be able to do. I then ask him if he teases other kids and he says yes so it is a good way to let him know that teasing is not a nice thing to do. My kids are going to know that they will be able to over come any obstacle in there lives and it will be due to the fact that they are short and will know that nothing can stop them from living there dreams. I will always be there for my kids and let them know no matter what they are just as good as everyone else. Yes I am rambling but there is a point to all of this and I will get to that right now. Don't let anyone tell you you are not normal just cause you are short, tall, fat, reading disability, or any other short comings in your life. Everyone has something that makes them different!! My kids will be proud of who they are and I will always be there to encourage them in this journey called life.

Just the weekend!!

Well this weekend was spring break for the boys. It is a good thing the weather wasn't to bad. Mike had a sleep over at his friend Brandon's house. They said they stayed up all night playing video games. Brandon and his brother Jessy walked mike home that next day (late afternoon). Later that evening Mike and I played a little kick ball. Colten was on both of our teams and Carson just ran when ever on of us took off. It was a lot of fun, even though mike kicked my but!!Taylor got to go Skiing with the scouts up at Brian head on Friday. He has never been. I had him take my camera so I could have some pictures, but he didn't take any pictures. He said he tried snowboarding first but it was to hard dragging that big board around. He did like skiing even though he ate it a few times. He said he fell one time and his skies went down hill and his poles went up hill and of course he landed in the middle of it all. He was all pumped up when he got home that night (11:00 pm ) I couldn't get him to go to bed. That next morning which was Saturday, We all got up and cleaned the house. Robert went for a horse back ride all day!! Me and the boys played outside a little until the stupid wind started to blow, it was a long day!! Sunday afternoon Roberts parents came up for a early dinner. They try to get up here once a month. It is always fun when we get together. Robert and his dad played golf on the WII. They get into it and it is so dam funny, Shauna and I just laugh and tease them when they miss. They left around five or so. I bought the movie Twilight so we all sat down and watched it, in mom and dads room on our bed. We all curled up and hung out. The movie was ok not as good as it was hyped up to be but not bad. After the movie I looked outside and it was snowing. What the hell, I thought it was spring!! So today which is Monday I am doing a post and the boys are playing Medal of Honor. It is freaking cold outside and at least a inch of snow. HAHA happy spring break!! That's ok it was a good weekend. As soon as it gets warmer we are going to start hiking and doing more outside and I just cant wait. I have the worst case of spring fever!!! I am ready for green grass and planting my garden and lots of flowers.

Michael Turns Ten

Mike had a Friday the 13th Birthday, so I tried to make it as much fun as possible for him. Mike invited a few of his friends over for a party, unfortunately only one showed up. Brandon is mikes best friend and I swear they should have been twins! We started the party out with Video Games, presents, and playing with balloons. The balloons were so huge and of course they all POPPED!! HAHAHA. While the kids were playing I made mikes cake. They heard what I was doing and had to come help. We added some food coloring and the kids mixed it all in.

At this point we started the experiments for the party. The first one we did was vinegar, baking soda, and water in a plastic bottle. The bottle I used was to tall so it didn't blow up like it was suppose to but it was still fun. We next took some milk, dish soap, and food coloring. The soap makes the food coloring move away from it and makes for some pretty neat designs. As you can see I think they got more color on there hands then anything.

The cake was done by this point and Taylor and Brandon wanted to decorate it so I let them do there worst! It turned out really cute. They used two large lemon heads for eyes and a mint for a nose, they then added licorice for a mouth and a fruit roll up for a tough. When I served it up with ice cream I think they were more excited about eating the candy! Brandon was able to stay the night and they played Video Games tell midnight. I had to make them go to bed cause Brandon had a wrestling match at eight in the morning. They had so much fun. Mike is turning into such a great kid and has such a big heart. I am so proud to say I am his MOM. Robert and I have watched him go from a shy kid to a out going full of life young man. He loves wearing his cowboy boots and hanging out with his dad. He wants to be able to ride a horse by the time he is eleven so Robert is working on helping him get over his fear of horses. I love that all my kids look up to there dad so much. So this time next year I hope to do a post of Mike on a horse. Happy Birthday mike and I hope this next year brings you everything you want. We love you MOM and DAD!!!!
